JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Salah satu edukasi yang masih kurang mengenai sepeda motor listrik ialah mengenai charging alias isi daya. Sebab pemakaian yang salah dapat menyebabkan umur baterai berkurang.
Hermawan Wijaya, Direktur Marketing PT International Chemical Industry, produsen ABC Lithium, mengimbau pemilik motor listrik agar mengisi daya menggunakan slow charging bukan fast charging.

Alva One mengusung tipe baterai lithium dengan kapasitas baterai 60 V 45 A (2,7 kWh). Baterai tersebut memiliki bobot 18 kg dan punya fitur proteksi berupa layar IP65, yang aman dari debu dan semprotan air.
“Tergantung charging-nya, pertama usahakan untuk mengisi daya slow charging kecuali memang butuh daya cepat. Kalau menungkinkan ada waktu usahakan slow charging misalkan lima jam,” ujar Hermawan di Jakarta, belum lama ini.
Hermawan mengatakan, untuk menjaga kondisi baterai, pemilik motor listrik bisa melakukan pengecasan saat malam hari waktu tidur. Sehingga ketika bangun baterai sudah terisi dan bisa dibawa untuk beraktivitas.
“Kalau di rumah saya rekomendasi slow charging, karena kalau bisa dicas tiga sampai empat jam cukup dengan charger 300-400 watt, kalau listrik kita 1.300 watt masih cukup masih bisa menyala. Baterai juga lebih awet,” katanya.

“Sebab slow charging tidak membangkitkan panas terlalu tinggi. Biasanya slow charging itu untuk baterai yang ada balancingnya akan bagus. Toh diisi waktu kita tidur, normalnya (waktu tidur 6-8 jam) itu cukup,” ungkap Hermawan.
Hermawan mengatakan, kelebihan lain slow charging ialah kapasitasnya kecil sehingga tidak membebani listrik. Pemilik rumah masih bisa menggunakan perangkat lain meski sedang mengisi daya baterai motor listrik.
“Kalau mau fast charging di rumah listrik (baterai) 1.300 watt seperti baterai swap, itu mau charging setengah jam, kita punya listrik 2.600 watt baru colok jatuh (mati), tidak bisa nonton TV dan lainnya, mau naik (daya) keluar uang lagi,” katanya.
